8th Annual Souper Bowl raised over $42,000 for children of First Coast
The 8th Annual Souper Bowl was a big success! The event raised over $42,000 for children on the First Coast.
The event, held on February 7 at beautiful Bowing Oaks in Jacksonville, Florida, is a night where guests taste the region’s best chefs and their soup while raising money to feed hungry kids in our community.
Activities include soup tasting, live music by “That Blonde,” a silent auction, wine, whiskey, desserts, and more! Plans are already underway for the 2025 Souper Bowl!
Special thank you to your presenting sponsors: Sysco and Manifest Distilling. And to our sponsors: The Doctor’s Company, Palm Beach Autographs, Regions Bank, Nemours Children’s Health, UPS Foundation, and Bowing Oaks.
We had 11 local restaurants participate in the event: Blue Bamboo, III Forks, Larry’s Giant Subs, Mango Mango’s, Midtown Table, Mojo’s BBQ, Nimncht GMC, Sysco, The Grub Brothers, The Loop, and V Pizza. We also had one local high school culinary school, Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology, which won “best soup” for their cream of mushroom.
In the Jacksonville area, over 76,000 kids are at risk of going hungry this weekend. These kids rely on their school’s free and reduced-price meal program to provide the nourishment they need to learn and grow. First Coast Blessings in a Backpack provides weekend nutrition to nearly 5,000 children in four counties: Duval, Clay, Nassau, and St. John’s. We are currently serving 38 schools.
